The world's cutest conservatives
The verdict is in. In no country in the world is the political right wing as adorable as in Canada. First, Laureen Harper, wife of the newly elected Conservative Prime Minister, announced that the prime minister's residence would now have space to house homeless kittens. Now, the National Post - the country's leading right-wing newspaper - has announced a national registry for mittens. Wide-eyed helpless mewing fuzzy baby animals and little warm furry things to keep you cozy - and they rhyme with each other.
While we at the Adorablog generally eschew weighty political issues, we can't help but muse what an improvement it would be if conservatives elsewhere decided to adopt similar levels of cuteness. Imagine Vicente Fox playing with tea cozies, or Silvio Berlusconi adopting a baby panda. The world might not be a more peaceful place, but it would at least be more huggable.

i'm sort of hoping that the Prime Minister's home for kittens and the registry for mittens will announce a collaborative effort to maybe provide kittens with mittens. :)

Hey, if you think our Conservative politicians are cute, check out the late Lester B. "Mike" Pearson, bowtie-wearing, peace-making Liberal geek Prime Minister with nerves of steel!
